Jared Padalecki has some dedicated fans, which they proved during the Supernatural panel at Comic-Con. It was a real tear-jerker and Padalecki himself showed his gratitude after his bravery in opening up about his personal issues.
Padalecki canceled appearances back in May, with his manager saying it was due to “exhaustion,” but he has previously opened up about his battle with depression and started the Always Keep Fighting campaign to help others who are going through it.
At the end of the panel, thousands of his fans held up candles in support of this campaign on Sunday, E! Online reports.
Padalecki told Variety in March that when a doctor told him he was clinically depressed, he didn’t understand it.
“I was 25 years old. I had my own TV show,” he said. “I had dogs that I loved and tons of friends and I was getting adoration from fans and I was happy with my work, but I couldn’t figure out what it was; it doesn’t always make sense is my point. It’s not just people who can’t find a job, or can’t fit in in society that struggle with depression sometimes.”
Padalecki took to Facebook afterwards and told fans he was “gob-smacked” by their gesture.
A thank you. To anybody and everybody that had ANY part whatsoever in the Always Keep Fighting Hall H tea light event....
