In a recent appearance on the WTF with Marc Maron podcast, former Daily Show writer and correspondent Wyatt Cenac had some pretty brutally honest words about his relationship with Jon Stewart.

In the episode, Cenac discussed a time when Jon Stewart berated him in front of the rest of the staff and yelled, "F*** off, I'm done with you." This was in the midst of a heated argument about Stewart's impression of 2012 presidential candidate Herman Cain, according to Deadline.

Back in 2011, Stewart did an exaggerated impression of Herman Cain on the show which Fox News hosts said was racist. In response, the comedian had planned a segment called “everything I do is racist" where he would play clips of all his over-the-top impressions from throughout the years.

But Cenac objected to this entire segment in an email to the staff, and he felt that Stewart's impression of Cain was coming from "kind of an ignorant place." When Cenac raised his concerns over the bit in the writers meeting, he said this is when Stewart flipped out on him.

“I was the one black writer there," Cenac said. "It was this thing where it’s like, when you’re the one — whether you want to or not — you’re speaking for everybody. I felt like I had to speak for all the minorities, because there’s nobody speaking for them."

In the end, Stewart went ahead with the bit as planned, and the segment can be seen on the show's official website.

Wyatt Cenac aired his final Daily Show episode in December 2012.
