Giuliana Rancic has announced her departure as a E! News anchor, but the network wants her to do one last thing. E! News wants to give Maria Menounos Rancic’s job and would love it if Rancic made a public announcement about it, but she said no.
The NY Daily News reports that when Menounos joined the E! team last year, Rancic immediately clashed with her.
“It’s the battle of the bitches. They’re like oil and water. They cannot stand each other,” a source tells Fox News.
The two anchors refused to speak to each other and they never appeared on set together.
A source claims that Menounos has no problem with Rancic. In fact, she views her as a role model, but Rancic is not willing to become friends.
E! wants Rancic to part with Menounos on good terms. “E! is begging Giuliana to have a public meeting with Maria—to hand the baton; give her her blessing.”
Yet Rancic refuses to support the decision. “She wishes Maria the best, but there’s no way she’ll do it.”
Rancic will remain as a co-host for Fashion Police and Live From the Red Carpet.
