On Saturday night of San Diego Comic-Con during the epic three-hour long Warner Bros. DC TV panel, the audience was already a buzz with news from Arrow, The Flash and DC Legends of Tomorrow. When Gotham had their time to go up and be on the panel stage in Hall H, fans weren’t disappointed one bit, especially towards the end of the panel.

Before a surprise appearance by a character from the show at the end, stars of the show were there to answer questions thrown at them by the moderator. Ben McKenzie (Jim Gordon), Morena Baccarin (Dr. Leslie Thompkins), Donal Logue (Harvey Bullock), Robin Lord Taylor (Penguin), Sean Pertwee (Alfred), Camren Bicondova (Selina Kyle), David Mazouz (Bruce Wayne), Erin Richards (Barbara) and Cory Michael Smith (Ed Nigma) were all of the main stars there to discuss the first season of Gotham and talk about what was in store for season two.
One of the main points of topic was about Geoff Johns decision to take on Bruno Heller’s idea for the show Gotham and make it different from all of the other stories told about Batman and the associated characters of that universe. Johns said that what really interested him was the fact that Heller wanted Selina Kyle to be a witness to the murder of young Bruce Wayne’s parents and how that would affect the story line.
Bicondova talked about the development of her character of Selina Kyle and said that next season the young Catwoman would really be torn between her good and evil side and trying to figure out if she was a good person or a bad person, much like any teenager going through puberty.

Mazouz also talked about how his character of young Bruce Wayne would be going through the same struggle but would ultimately be on the path towards what he will become; a hero. Together him and Pertwee would begin to develop the dynamic duo of Alfred and Bruce Wayne for next season, as their characters become more of friends than butler and master.
Relationships with other character will begin to change and alter as well especially between Gordon and Bullock as Gordon will begin to be a good influence on Bullock and bring back out the good part of him again, much like fans saw towards the end of season one. Obviously another changed relationship will also be between Gordon and Barbara, as the last we saw of her she had just murdered her own parents in cold blood.

Overall the audience got the feeling that season two would be more about the beginning of Gotham falling out of the wrong hands (the mafia) and into the great hands (Jim Gordon).
The audience was then treated to an exclusive look at the new season of Gotham premiering in the fall and it seems that we will be getting a look into Arkham Asylum and some of the crazy characters that dwell there along with Barbara being involved with the asylum as well.
One last surprise of the Gotham portion of the panel happened during a fan question when all of a sudden the character “Jerome” from the show grabs the microphone away from the fan and began to make threats at the actors. This stunt for the show had the audience in Hall H going wild since it was so unexpected and the actor did a great job at keeping in character. You can see the stunt in this clip towards the last two minutes of the video.
