Bad news for Hannibal fans: following the show's recent cancellation, the actors' contracts have officially expired.

According to Deadline, actors Hugh Dancy and Mads Mikkelsen are already exploring other movie and TV offers, which could be a bad sign for a potential Hannibal revival.

That doesn't necessarily mean the show is officially gone, and if it's picked up for a fourth season elsewhere, Dancy and Mikkelsen could simply renegotiate their contracts. But this certainly complicates things, and if either actor takes on a major role that would conflict with the filming of Hannibal, that could spell the end for a Season 4.

This comes a few days after rumors that Amazon and Hulu were both interested in picking up the show, as we previously reported. Let's just hope one of them does so very soon, because the longer they wait, the more difficult a revival is going to be.

Hannibal is currently airing its third and possibly final season on NBC.
