Two years ago, a fan reached out to her idol, rapper J. Cole, in search of some extra motivation in school. He responded to her message on Twitter, promising to show up to her graduation if she got accepted into a four-year university. He also promised to buy her books and pay for a portion of her tuition.
Cole's most recent album 2014 Forest Hills Drive was the first hip-hop album in 25 years to go platinum without a single guest feature, according to Vibe.
The fan, identified only as @princess_simba on her Twitter account, tweeted Cole again in 2014 asking if he approved of her grades. He responded once again with his seal of approval.
This week, Cole kept his promise. He not only attended the fan's graduation, but he also planned his Dolla and a Dream III Tour around her graduation date so that he could go, according to Cole's manager.
