Comedian Jim Carrey went on a Twitter rant last night in reaction to a mandatory vaccination bill California Gov. Jerry Brown signed into law Tuesday. While he called Brown a “corporate fascist who must be stopped,” Carrey insisted that he is “pro-vaccine/anti-neurotoxin.”

On Tuesday, Brown signed SB 277, which requires schoolchildren to get vaccinated before attending either private or public schools. The bill comes as some have raised concerns about the symptoms of some vaccines. Lack of immunization is believed to be the cause of the December measles outbreak.

In response, Carrey took to Twitter, where he first wrote, “California Gov says yes to poisoning more children with mercury and aluminum in manditory [sic] vaccines. This corporate fascist must be stopped.” The Dumb and Dumber To actor added, “They say mercury in fish is dangerous but forcing all of our children to be injected with mercury in thimerosol is no risk. Make sense?”

Carrey then began to explain that he’s not against vaccination. He’s just against thimerosal and mercury.

Then, he asked his fans to go to TraceAmounts.com to see a trailer about a documentary about the affects of mercury and thimerasol.

Carrey has been vocal about vaccines since he was in a relationship with Jenny McCarthy, who claims that vaccines cause her son’s autism. However, as USA Today points out, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has stated in the past that there is no clear link between autism and vaccines.
