The BBC and Netflix are working on a revival of the classic cartoon series Danger Mouse, and they've just hired two huge stars to voice characters in the show.
According to Deadline, John Oliver and Lena Headey will be lending their voices to the upcoming cartoon series. Oliver will be playing mad scientist Dr. Augustus P. Crumhorn III, while Heady will be doing the voice of Jeopardy Mouse, a U.S. secret agent.
Both actors said that they loved Danger Mouse growing up and were thrilled to be able to contribute to the latest version.
“I have children now and it’s just a treat to be involved in something that you loved as a kid and be able to share it,” said Headey, who also plays Cersei Lannister on HBO's Game of Thrones.
The new Danger Mouse reboot was ordered back in February, as we previously reported. Alongside Oliver and Headey, the show will star Alexander Armstrong and Stephen Fry. The episodes will originally air on the BBC channel CBBC before heading to Netflix in the spring.
In addition to Danger Mouse, Netflix has been reviving a number of classic cartoons including a new version of Inspector Gadget, which is now available for streaming.
