Justin Bieber was interviewed by Martha Stewart for Interview Magazine’s August issue, where he discussed his rise to fame, his education and his upcoming album.

Bieber was discovered by his manager, Scooter Braun, on YouTube and the “Where Are U Now” singer told Stewart that Braun kind of “stalked” him.

“Music was never something that I was going to do for a living," he said. "At 13 you're not even thinking of that, you know. I was just playing for fun and uploading videos to YouTube because I wanted to show my family. That's when Scooter found me."

He went on to say when his mom, Patti Mallette, called Braun to tell him to “stop calling” when it started to get “kind of creepy,” they ended up talking for two hours. They eventually went out to Atlanta to meet him and the rest is history.

As for graduating high school in 2012, Bieber said he finished with a 4.0 grade average.

Bieber is working on his upcoming “very personal” album with Skrillex, Diplo, Kanye West and Rick Rubin and he doesn’t feel pressured to put a time limit on it.

"I'm really not worried about when it's finished, I just want it to be perfect, so we're taking our time with it,” he said.
