Looks like there is still some “bad blood” between Katy Perry and Taylor Swift.
Perry is the most recent A-lister to join the Twitter feud between Swift and rapper Nicki Minaj which broke out on Tuesday when Minaj tweeted her disappointment in not being nominated for Video of the Year by MTV for its Video Music Awards.
Minaj tweeted, “If your video celebrates women with very slim bodies, you will be nominated for vid of the year.”
Her tweet prompted a response from Swift, who wrote, “I’ve done nothing but love & support you. It’s unlike you to pit women against each other. Maybe one of the men took your slot.”
Perry took a cue from her fellow musicians and decided to add her two cents. Though Perry did not mention any names in her fiery tweet, her words packed a punch and set the Internet into frenzy.
“Finding it ironic to parade the pit women against other women argument about as one measurably capitalizes on the take down of a woman,” Perry tweeted.
Ouch.
Fans speculated that Perry’s tweet was targeted towards Swift due to their alleged fight, which dates back to 2014 when Swift revealed that her song “Bad Blood” was about a Hollywood rival to Rolling Stone. In the interview, she disclosed that Perry had previously tried to hire her backup dancers and “sabotage an entire arena tour.”
Both Minaj and Swift have yet to comment on Perry’s tweet.
