Even though Kevin Costner has had a recent success on television, the actor isn’t quite ready to make the jump to streaming. Costner has officially backed out of Trial, a legal drama from Boston Legal’s David E. Kelley.

Trial is set to be a series about a powerful attorney who has fallen from grace as an alcoholic. After he takes a case that centers on an innocent child getting murdered, he faces his former legal partner. Deadline notes that Kelley wrote the pilot with Jonathan Shapiro, who also worked on The Practice and Boston Legal.

Despite Costner leaving, Amazon and Kelley are still going to search for a “huge star” to take the lead role, reports The Hollywood Reporter. Once the role is cast, it will go straight to series, jumping Amazon’s usual pilot stage, where viewers get to vote on pilots that move ahead.

Costner, who starred in the History Channel’s Hatfields & McCoys, is still sticking mostly with movies. He just starred in Disney’s McFarland USA, Black or White and Draft Day.

As for Kelley, he’s currently working on HBO’s Big Little Lies with Nicole Kidman and Reese Witherspoon.
