Caitlyn Jenner and Orange is the New Black’s Laverne Cox finally got to meet in person for the first time during a private screening of Jenner’s E! docu-series I Am Cait.
Cox took to social media to share their first meeting with fans, captioning the photo, "@caitlynjenner and I finally met in person at a special private advance screening of #IAmCait. #TransIsBeautiful #girlslikeus #caitlynjenner.”
A whole group of women got together to support Jenner at the screening, including her good friend Candis Cayne.
When Jenner first transitioned, Cox took to Tumblr to praise and support her, urging the public to focus on “her heart and soul, the way she has allowed the world into her vulnerabilities" and not just her physical looks.
Jenner then gave Cox a shout out on Twitter, calling her “fierce and fabulous.”
According to E! Online, Cox has previously opened up about a phone call she had with Jenner before making her transition, during which she gave the former Olympian advice.
