Marvel has earned its 12th consecutive number one at the box office with Ant-Man. Ant-Man joins the ranks of Avengers: Age of Ultron, Guardians of the Galaxy, Iron Man 3 and Captain America: Winter Soldier at the top of the box office and helps to continue Marvel's winning streak.

Ant-Man which stars Paul Rudd, Michael Douglas and Evangeline Lilly, has earned an estimated $58 million at the box office. The film also performed well internationally bringing in over $56 million.

The early numbers reported for Ant-Man aren't like that of Avengers or Guardians but Dave Hollis, executive vice president of theatrical distribution for Walt Disney Studios said in an email why the grosses may have been smaller. Hollis explained that "severe weather in parts of the Midwest and rain in Southern California appear to have slowed grosses."

Ant-Man took the top spot at the box office closely followed by Minions,USA Today reported. Minions earned $50.2 million and increased their 10-day total to $216.7 million. Coming in third place was Amy Schumer's Trainwreck which made $30.2 million.
