As trades all around Major League Baseball are continuing, reports indicate that the Los Angeles Dodgers have acquired the pitching help they desired.

According to Hardball Talk, the Dodgers have acquired pitcher Mat Latos and first baseman/outfielder Michael Morse from the Marlins for three minor leaguers.

Everyone expected the Dodgers to make a trade for a pitcher but thought it would be a bigger name to join a rotation with Clayton Kershaw and Zack Greinke. This trade makes the possibility of the club acquiring David Price or Phillies ace Cole Hamels less likely.

Latos will be the fifth man in the rotation behind Brett Anderson and Mike Bolsinger.

Before pitching for the Marlins the 27-year-old was with the Cincinnati Reds and San Diego Padres and has a career ERA of 3.43, Baseball-Reference.com noted.

It is unclear at this time what role Morse will fill as the Dodgers are covered at first base with Adrian Gonzalez and have a stacked outfield.

The MLB trade deadline is July 31st at 4 p.m.
