Michael Sam, the first openly gay NFL star to be drafted, has split from his fiancé of about six months, Vito Cammisano.
Sam and Cammisano, an aspiring blogger, got engaged in January in St. Peter's Basilica.
Reps for either of them have confirmed the split, but TMZ reports there are many clues.
The recipient of the Arthur Ashe Courage Award, which Caitlyn Jenner is getting this year, has deleted all evidence of his relationship with Cammmisano on his social media pages.
Furthermore, Cammisano posted a YouTube video earlier this week where he’s not wearing his engagement ring from Sam. The couple also hasn’t been spotted out together in two months.
"They've been rocky for months," a source told Us Weekly.
Sam and Cammisano both attended the University of Missouri and they started dating in 2011. The photo of the couple kissing when Sam got drafted to the St. Louis Rams last year might be one of the most memorable in NFL history.
