After an offseason of uncertainties, the Minnesota Vikings and Adrian Peterson have agreed to restructure a contract so he can continue playing for the team.

The Star Tribune has reported that the two sides “mutually agreed” on restructuring the final three years of the contract assuring the running back around $20 million over the next two.

“I appreciate the Vikings for working together on this restructured contract, which provides additional security for me but also allows opportunities for me to further prove my value to the team and within the NFL,” Peterson said in a statement. “It was important for me to continue my career in Minnesota, and I cannot wait to get on the field in front of Vikings fans again.”

Before the agreement was announced, it was uncertain if Peterson would play for Minnesota at all in 2015.

As previously reported, the 30-year-old was charged with child abuse and suspended by the league and after being reinstated requested a trade to the Dallas Cowboys.

His agent, Ben Dogra, said that despite being signed with the team through 2017, it was not in the athlete’s best interest to play in Minnesota anymore and Peterson wanted out. But now it looks as though neither side has any hard feelings as Peterson is getting a nice pay day and the Vikings have the star running back for years to come.
