Netflix just released the first teaser trailer for it's adaption of Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events.
The teaser — uploaded to YouTube under the name Eleanora Poe, a character in the children's book series — is the first glimpse of the new series since Netflix's announcement last November.
Although the trailer offers little information regarding the upcoming TV series, it does contain some creepy imagery and music.
A Series of Unfortunate Eventsis a series of 13 novels by Lemony Snicket, the pen name of author Daniel Handler. The first novel, The Bad Beginning was released in 1999. In 2004, Jim Carrey starred in Nickelodeon's film adaption, which was based off of the series' first three novels.
The series follow the story of three orphans who are forced to live with their cruel relative, Count Olaf, after their parents die in a fire.
Netflix has yet to announce a release date or cast and crew information for the TV series.
