On Saturday, July 11, at 10:00 a.m. PDT, over 4,000 San Diego Comic-Con attendees were gathered in Ballroom 20 for the Once Upon a Time panel.
As we previously reported, Yvette Nicole Brown, from the NBC comedy series Community, hosted the question/answer panel that included co-creators Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis as well as most of the show’s main actors and actresses. Present were Josh Dallas, Ginnifer Goodwin, Colin O’Donoghue, Jennifer Morrison, Lana Parrilla, Sean Maguire, Rebecca Mader, Emilie de Ravin, and Robert Carlyle. It was well planned, and even the seating arrangements were set up to pay homage to as many of the fan “ships” as possible: Snowing, Captain Swan, Swan Queen, Outlaw Queen, Wicked Outlaw, and Rumbelle. I suppose they could have taken advantage of the Captain Charming bromance or even the brief romantic encounter between Rumple and Zelena (Wicked Imp), but they didn’t.
Many of the relationships were discussed, but, of course, the focus is on Emma and her role as the new Dark One. Everything else seems to be on the back burner for now, but considering that Hook is Emma’s current true love, their relationship will be pivotal. The 45-minute panel covered a lot of information about the upcoming season, including the addition of characters from Camelot and Brave, but it also allowed this close cast to display their camaraderie and liveliness. It is their humorous banter that will be the focus of this top 10 list.
Hopefully, you’ll get a laugh out of these quotable moments. Here are a couple of honorable mentions just to get you started: When Brown began her question about why so many people choose to stay in Storybrooke, despite its many ailments, Dallas chimed in that "Storybrooke has really bad sheriffs." Considering he’s one of them, that’s pretty funny. Then, Kitsis’ response to Brown’s inquiry regarding how much control Isaac (the author) had over the actions of the others was quite fitting. He said, “Never trust a writer!” I suppose he would know.
