HBO released the first trailer for Show Me A Hero, the first project from The Wire creator David Simon since Treme ended. Unlike those previous series, this new one is a mini-series and based on a true story.

Oscar Isaac stars as Yonkers, New York mayor Nick Wasicsko, who is tasked with desegregating the city. He runs into trouble from both sides, who feel he is forcing them to change. The rest of the cast includes Carla Quevedo, Catherine Keener, Alfred Molina, James Belushi, Bob Balaban, LaTanya Richardson-Jackson, Jon Bernthal and Winona Ryder.

The six-episode series will premiere on Sunday, Aug. 16 at 9 p.m. It was directed by Crash’s Paul Haggis. It is based on the nonfiction book by Lisa Belkin.
