Regis Philbin is returning to morning television and will reunite with his longtime Live! co-host Kathie Lee Gifford. He will be a contributor on the fourth hour of the Today Show with Gifford and Hoda Kotb.

Kotb and Gifford started their hour of the Today Show this morning in a bar, where Philbin made a surprise appearance as a bartender. Of course, that isn’t really his new job. The two regular hosts lead Regis all the way to the Today Show studio, where they introduced him as a new contributor to the show.

The rest of the hour included an interview with Gifford’s daughter Cassidy, who appears in the new horror movie The Gallows, and a basketball game where Regis got to show off his skills.

Philbin has found unique ways to keep himself busy since retiring from Live! in 2011. He’s made cameos on New Girl, Hot In Cleveland and The Odd Couple and appeared in one of David Letterman’s final Late Show broadcasts.
