Robe Lowe is weighing in on Ariana Grande’s leaked comments from a visit to a doughnut shop from this past weekend, where she declared she “hates” America. He’s calling BS on her apology, which she released on Wednesday.

The “Love Me Harder” singer has apologized for saying “I hate Americans. I hate America!” by saying she’s “EXTREMELY proud to be an American and I’ve always made it clear that I love my country.” She also claimed she said the comments out of frustration that the child obesity rates are so high in America and children are eating food like the doughnuts offered at the shop.

However, Lowe took to Twitter to call her apology “lame.” He also compared her to the Dixie Chicks, who famously criticized President Bush over 10 years ago and declared they were “ashamed that the president of the United States is from Texas.” Boycotts erupted and their popularity plummeted.

“Cannot wait for the new Arianna Grande/Dixie Chicks jam to drop! #IActuallyLoveAmerica,” Lowe joked.

The video of Grande making the controversial comments is now being investigated by the Environmental Health department because she licked doughnuts that could be sold to other customers. The shop owner took it to police to report it as a health code violation.
