Rumer Willis is dancing her way into showbiz. The 26-year-old daughter of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore will make her Broadway debut next month in Chicago following her triumphant run on Dancing With The Stars.
Willis will replace singer Brandy, who is currently playing Roxie Hart through Aug. 2. Willis will take over from Aug. 18 through Oct. 11.
Conveniently enough, her father is making his Broadway debut this fall. On Oct. 22, he’ll start playing in Misery, a play based on the Stephen King novel and film of the same name.
Chicago has been playing on Broadway constantly since 1996 and is now in its 19th year. It won six Tony Awards in 1997 and is currently staged at the Ambassador Theatre. Some of the songs included in the show include “All That Jazz,” “Cell Block Tango” and “Roxie.” As the Associated Press notes, it has featured a carousel of famous stars in major roles, including Ashlee Simpson, Brooke Shields, Rita Wilson and Christie Brinkley.
In May, Willis won the mirror ball trophy during the latest season of DWTS. She was supposed to go on the DWTS tour, but was sidelined by a foot injury.
