Selena Gomez will be joining the cast of The Voice as Gwen Stefani's mentor in the newest season.

According to Us Weekly, the hit NBC competition has already lined up household-named stars as celebrity mentors.

Besides Gomez being Stefani's mentor, she will be joined by John Fogerty was Adam Levine's mentor, Brad Paisley as Blake Shelton's, and Missy Elliott as Pharrel's, am anonymous source explained.

The reality competition source even revealed that the Good For You singer was the backstage favorite.

"She was surprisingly amazing as a mentor even though she’s so young,” the source reveals about the 23-year-old. “She exceeded everyone’s expectations.”

As for the other mentors, Levine always "dreamed" of working with Fogerty. The Maroon 5 front-liner asked who he considers "a legend" to come back as his mentor after Fogerty's performance on the show's season eight finale.

As for Shelton and Paisley, Shelton needed the 42-year-old Crushin' It singer by his side as a friend.

"Brad was a good friend to Blake, and it was great for Blake to have him there — especially considering everything Blake is going through,” the source adds, nodding to Shelton's headline makingdivorce to country sweetheart Miranda Lambert.

During the interview, the source failed to mention details about Pharrel's and Missy Elliott's duo.

Past mentors include Meghan Trainor, Stevie Nicks, Alicia Keys, and Lionel Richie. Like these past mentors, Gomez, Fogerty, Paisley, and Missy Elliott will come in after the blind auditions occur to help train the performers for the battle rounds.

NBC's The Voice premieres it's ninth season on Sept. 21 at 8 p.m. ET.
