Stephen Colbert doesn’t want you to eat lunch alone. The soon to be Late Show host is launching a new web series to ensure that you enjoy your lunch in the company of a friendly face. Colbert’s goal is to get to know his audience before The Late Show launches in September.

In the video Colbert points out that, “These days a lot of people eat their lunch alone at their desks watching videos like these.” He goes on to formally announce the web series and its title, “So today I am proud to announce the historic launch of our daily weeklong series Stephen Colbert has Stephen Colbert’s Daily Lunch with You Starring Stephen Colbert.”
In Monday’s video Colbert shares that he is only eating “small sounding foods,” which includes Little Caesar’s pizza, Thin Mints, and baby back ribs. He also divulges his dream to own a bed and breakfast; his master plan is to “remove interior doorknobs” to ensure that he always has customers.

Colbert has been busy prepping to take over for David Letterman on The Late Show. He recently spent some time on public access TV in Michigan. He also visited Jerry Seinfeld on Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee.
Colbert is set to begin hosting The Late Show in September. His predecessor, David Letterman, received Emmy nominations for his final season hosting the show.
