Taylor Swift has apologized to Nicki Minaj following their Twitter exchange from earlier this week, saying she completely misunderstood the “Anaconda” rapper’s message behind her tweets.

On Tuesday night, Minaj was tweeting about the bigger picture of African American women getting less recognition for their accomplishments when she tweeted about Swift’s “Bad Blood” video getting nominated and her “Anaconda” video getting snubbed for Video of the Year.

"Didn't say a word about u. I love u just as much. But u should speak on this,” Minaj told Swift. Now that she has had time to take a step back and weigh it all out, Swift is apologizing.

“I thought I was being called out. I missed the point, I misunderstood, then misspoke. I'm sorry, Nicki. @NICKIMINAJ,” Swift tweeted on Thursday.

When Swift told Minaj “It's unlike you to pit women against each other,” her enemy, Katy Perry, took it upon herself to enter the discussion with that comment since she’s the one who inspired “Bad Blood” in the first place.

Perry tweeted the statement was “ironic,” since Swift is the one who “unmeasurably capitalizes on the take down of a woman...”
