Night Terrors
We meet Tracy who has been experiencing what she wants to believe are night terrors, but all signs point to the fact that the dreams are in fact real. Someone, or more probably something, opened her skylight and grabbed the leg of her chair, dropping her onto the floor where her father found her in the morning. During her conversation with the counselor, who also happens to be Lydia's mother, Tracy throws up a black substance, and within the substance, she finds a black feather. A feather that is an eerie reminder of the black birds that flew out of the dead body when the "creature with blue claws" was stabbed.
The Rules are Changing
Dr. Alan Deaton tells us that this season is going into uncharted territory because the rules of the supernatural world are not as strict as he once thought they were. Oh Dr. Deaton, haven't the last four seasons taught you anything; always expect the unexpected. The berserkers made that loud and clear.
Upon Dr. Deaton's further examination, he figures out that the "creature with blue claws" was a Werewolf with talons,Eagle talons that can absorb a true alphas power. A phenomenon that even the all knowing Dr. Deaton can't wrap his mind around. The supernatural rules are changing, or someone's trying to change the rules. This cannot end well as the supernatural world only seems to thrive when in balance, this according to all the supernatural movies/shows I've seen (which are a lot).
Are you or aren't you?
The crew is back at school for senior year, which by itself is an unbelievable feat considering everything else that always seems to be going on. Stiles is suspicious of Theo, the new wolf in town, so during free period, he and Scott ask Theo about his past, to which Theo tells them that the alpha who bit him died the night after changing him. Theo also seems to remember childhood memories of moments he shared with Scott and Stiles. However, Stiles isn't won over that easily, so with the help of Liam, Stiles follows Theo into the woods, but doesn't find anything suspicious there, only Theo by the river grieving the loss of his sister. Theo approaches Stiles in the woods and tells him that he is only back to join the pack because he wants to have friends that have his back, and because lone wolves don't tend to survive very long. Theo tries to assure Stiles that his reason for returning are innocent and honest.
Even though Theo seems to be a smooth talker, Stiles isn't won over yet. He turns his suspensions from Theo to Theo's parents, after he finds out that Theo's dads signature was forged on his school transfer papers. Though it seems like Stiles is always on a wild goose chase, he has good reason. In this town, everyone has an agenda, and since Scott always seems to be naive and trusting, Stiles has to be the voice of reason.
The pack gets bigger
Mason, Liams best friend has been suspicious that the town is full of supernatural activity ever since he experienced a berserker attack last season. Though Liam is skeptical to tell Mason the truth about being a werewolf for fear that Mason won't understand, he finally reveals his wolf form with a little unwanted help from Theo, who attacks them at the school, forcing Liam to go into wolf form in front of Mason. Now that Mason knows the truth, he can join the pack as Stiles 2.0. Seriously! After doing so much research on the berserkers, he clearly has a knack for investigating. Plus it wouldn't hurt to provide Stiles with a non-supernatural friend.
The Terrors are Real
Turns out the night terrors Tracy thought she was experiencing aren't really night terrors at all. After finding dead crows on Tracy's rooftop, Parish and Lydia survey Tracy's house, but don't notice a seemingly possessed Tracy leaving. Tracy ends up at the same place the "creature with blue claws" met his demise. Here, the same people that killed the "creature with blue claws" inject something into her neck and transform her into a wolf, telling her that she has been awakened.
It also turns out that Stiles suspicions of Theo were also accurate. Back at Theo's house, Theo is seen reprimanding the people who are pretending to be his parents. Theo says that his "father" was meant to practice the signature to make it a perfect match. A mistake that was noticed by Stiles. To rectify the situation, Theo breaks the man's hand because well, of course the signature would be a bit shaky if it had been signed by a man with a broken hand. Did anyone else pick up the the fact that Theo said "You were told to practice", instead of "I told you to practice". That raises the questions: Who told this man to practice the signature? Who sent Theo? Is Theo really who he says he is?
P.S Good luck in AP Biology Scott. "Dr McCall" has a great ring to it, plus Scott always seems most at home at the animal clinic, go figure.
P.P.S Sheriff Stilinski is no longer wearing his wedding ring. Hopefully that means a love interest for him this season. Maybe Melissa McCall?
