Terrence Howard has some legal drama to tend to.

The Empire star is being sued by his ex-wife Michelle Ghent for assault, intentional infliction of emotional distress, negligent infliction of emotional distress and defamation. Ghent also claims that Howard assaulted her in 2013 while the two were on vacation in Costa Rica.

In the court documents obtained by E! News, Ghent declares that Howard “followed Plaintiff into the restroom of the rental house and punched her on the left side of her face.”

But the violence does not stop there. Howard also allegedly “grabbed Plaintiff by her neck and pushed her against the bathroom wall and strangled her for several seconds.”

More violence ensued before Howard’s son Billy came into the room and tried to stop his father. The filing claims that Ghent sustained several injuries from the fight including multiple contusions, swelling and bruises all over her body.

Howard is also accused of making “false accusations disseminated to the public through the media that Plaintiff had made death threats and other threats against Defendant and his family through various social media accounts.”

This isn’t the first time Howard has been accused of domestic of abuse. In 2001 he was arrested on charges for attacking his estranged wife Lori McCommas. Howard pleaded guilty for disturbing the peace and he and McCommas eventually divorced.

Howard has yet to comment on the allegations or the lawsuit.
