It's official. The character of Jay Garrick will be featured in season two of the CW's The Flash. The announcement came out of a Warner Bros. television panel at San Diego Comic Con. The cast of The Flash was told the news during an interview at Comic Con and they have been taking to Twitter to express their excitement. It seams that the actors themselves couldn't hold back their excitement.
Garrick is the original Flash from the comic books. Garrick will be played by actor Teddy Sears. Sears is known for his roles in Masters of Sex and Raising the Bar. Sears got in on the fun and posted a picture from the original Flash comic books of his character, which Grant Gustin, who plays Barry Allen, retweeted.
The writers for The Flash confirmed the news on Twitter and executive producer Andrew Kreisberg elaborated during the panel on why the creators knew they need to use Garrick's character in the show. "Having Jay Garrick come onto the show was one of our earliest ideas. It is so exciting, as we rush into season two, that we finally get to bring the Crimson Comet to life. We couldn’t imagine anyone more suited to play the original Flash than Teddy," said Kreisberg.
That wasn't the only news that broke for Flash fans. It was announced that the main villain for season two would be Zoom and that Patty Spivot, played by Shantel VanSanten, will be joining the cast this season, IGN reported.
Shantel VanSanten took to her Twitter account to express her excitement about joining The Flash family.
