Former The View co-host Elizabeth Hasselbeck is getting some love from her former co-hosts, who are defending her in the wake of her comment about Sandra Bland.
On Fox & Friends, Hasselbeck suggested Bland might’ve used her cigarette as a weapon and she received a lot of backlash for it, being accused of going to any length to cover up the cop’s inappropriate behavior.
Whoopi Goldberg disagreed, saying on The View, “Somehow, suddenly, it is no longer OK to pose a question that will give you an answer in order to best understand what’s going on,” The Wrap reports.
She further defended Hasselbeck to those who claim she's racist by saying, “We’ve been friends for about seven, eight years, and she has not asked me to pick any cotton.”
Raven-Symone offered everyone needs to stop “being so sensitive,” and Rosie Perez brought up whether someone like Matt Lauer would’ve received the same backlash for asking the same question.
“I didn’t find it offensive at all. I felt that she was asking a provocative question as a journalist,” she said.
