Vicki Gunvalson has shared her life with Bravo viewers the entire time Real Housewives of Orange County has been on the air, so it was tragic to see her most devastating life event play out on the show this week.
On Monday’s new episode, Gunvalson received word that her mother, Joanne Steinmetz, had passed away. This was filmed in February, so she’s had some time to grieve. At the moment, however, she was stunned and ridden with pain.
When the trailer for the new season came out, this moment was included and she tweeted at the time, “It's the most terrible thing to have to re-live again."
She has now told Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live that she doesn’t regret filming this tragic moment in her life.
"It's part of my reality. I lost my mother. I signed up for all areas of my life to exposed—the good and the bad,” she told Cohen, E! Online reports. “There's been a lot of great moments that have been aired and there's a lot of moments that I wish I wasn't on a reality show.”
She added, “This is not a moment that I feel, as of right now, that I regret because statistically people are going to lose their parents, right? I don't blame Bravo, I don't blame [production company behind RHOC] Evolution, I don't blame anybody—it's my life."
