Even though a 2005 deposition in which Bill Cosby admitted to giving Quaaludes to women in order to have sex with them, The View’s Whoopi Goldberg is still standing behind the comedian. She reminded viewers that people in the U.S. are still “innocent until proven guilty.”

During a 2005 deposition in Andrea Constand’s lawsuit against him, Cosby did admit that he had seven prescriptions for Quaaludes. However, when the accuser’s attorney asked if he ever gave women the drug without their consent, Cosby’s attorney objected to the question. The case was settled in 2006 before it went to trial.

Since the testimony was made public on Monday, many of the women who have accused Cosby of rape and drugging them, have felt vindicated. Jill Scott, who previously stood by Cosby, also said that this evidence has changed her mind.

Goldberg, who actually received a thank-you tweet from Cosby in December for supporting him, will not change her mind until Cosby is actually convicted of being a rapist.

“We’ll see what happens as more information comes out, people will make judgments,” Goldberg said on The View this morning, notes TheWrap. “I don’t like snap judgments because I’ve had snap judgments made on me, so I’m very very careful…save your texts, save your nasty comments–I don’t care.”

“This is my opinion and in America, still – I know it’s a shock – but you actually were innocent until proven guilty; he has not been proven a racist,” Goldberg added.

Raven-Symone, who was on The Cosby Show as a child, said that she didn’t like talking about the situation because Cosby helped her start her acting career. She said that she needed some more proof before she can finally take a stand on the subject.
