American Horror Story co-creator Ryan Murphy dropped a few more tantalizing hints about the hit FX anthology series’ future. While the upcoming fifth season will not feature Oscar winner Jessica Lange, that doesn’t mean that she is done with the series.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Murphy said that she’s “not gone forever” and the two have been talking lately. Of course they have been talking still because Murphy is co-producing the stage revival of Long Day’s Journey Into Night that is keeping Lange from doing AHS: Hotel.

“She’ll be back - she’s not gone forever,” Murphy said. “But that’s the fun and fresh thing about the show: sometimes somebody has to go away before you realize how much you miss them. She wants to come back we just have to come up with something.”

EW hinted that Lange could make a cameo in Hotel, since one episode will feature season one’s Murder House. She played Constance in that first season.

Murphy also told EW that it is possible that we could get two seasons of the hit show in 2016, although nothing is set yet. He explained that they are planning to go with two different writers rooms next year.

“We’re doing something that we’ve never done before on the show where we’re doing two different groups of writers rooms,” Murphy said. “Some of our writers will be bouncing around but a whole different group coming in late August. The next thing we’re crafting up is very, very different than this. Not smaller. But just not opulent. More rogue and more dark.”

Earlier this week, EW also revealed who Lady Gaga is playing. The pop star was cast as The Countess, who is a glamorous socialite who keeps her beautiful looks by drinking blood.

The rest of the cast includes Wes Bentley, Kathy Bates, Angela Bassett, Sarah Paulson, Denis O’Hare, Evan Peters and Matt Bomer. The new season kicks off on Oct. 7.
