Sons of Anarchy, or at least characters from the beloved Kurt Sutter series, will be riding again on FX soon. The network is developing a spin-off series.

News of the project was first reported by Entertainment Weekly, but Sutter himself confirmed the project in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter.

Not much is known about the project, but it will focus on the Hispanic motorcycle gang called the Mayans, which had several run-ins with SAMCRO during SOA’s seven seasons. Sutter will be an executive producer on the Fox 21 TV Studios/FX production.

THR reported that Sutter is still looking for a writer to oversee the series. It would be hard for him to do it himself, since he is working on The Bastard Executioner, another show for FX. That show, which is set during the 14th century, will premiere on Sept. 15 with a two-hour episode.

SOA remains one of FX’s most popular series. The series finale in December nabbed 9.26 million viewers.

Sutter recently broke into movies by penning the screenplay for Southpaw with Jake Gyllenhaal.
