San Francisco 49ers linebacker Aldon Smith was arrested Thursday night in California on charges of driving under the influence, hit and run and vandalism.

ESPN noted that law enforcement officials in Santa Clara said that Smith was booked into the county jail and held on $26,000 bail. Authorities did not, however, say what led to the arrest.

This is yet another instance of Smith’s run-ins with the law.

In 2012, the 25-year-old was arrested on suspicion of DUI and checked himself into a rehabilitation facility several days later. He also faced weapons charges that stemmed from an incident at his home, which left him with stab wounds.

And, in April of last year, he was detained at Los Angeles International Airport and charged for a false report of a bomb threat. Officials said Smith made remarks about being in possession of a bomb after he was randomly selected for screening. The defensive linebacker was then suspended by the league for nine games last season.
