What do you get when you put two funny, talented people together to have a conversation? You get a lot of laughter.
Amy Poehler and Will Forte, former Saturday Night Live co-stars, conversed and let the world listen in and imagine what it would feel like if we were friends with cool people, like Amy Poehler and Will Forte.
Poehler and Forte, talked with Variety about their Emmy nominations, their time spent at the SNL table reads, and Andy Samberg.
Both actors were nominated for their lead roles in their comedy series’. Poehler was nominated for her work as Leslie Knope on Parks and Recreation and Forte for Phil Miller on Last Man on Earth. In their chat the pair revealed that they sat next to one another at the SNL table reads each week. “I had the pleasure of sitting next to Will during many, many read-throughs and both of us hearing the quiet crickets of no one laughing,” Poehler said.
Poehler and Forte joked about their “romance.” “Will and I, like any good lovers, like to give and receive. That’s on our Tinder profile, people should check it out,” Poehler laughed. Forte added, “We have made love on every part of that table-read table.”
The two also shared their excitement for SNL alum Andy Samberg hosting the Emmys. “He’ll be so great. I’m so excited to sit back and he has to do all the work. I’ll just take nips out of a bottle from my purse and just enjoy the show cause it’s gonna be good,” said Poehler. “Oh, I wanna sit near you,” Forte said to Poehler. That's just what we were thinking. If only we could turn that into a reality.
Poehler has a busy rest of the year. She is producing the Hulu series Difficlut People, her movie Sisters which she stars in with Tina Fey comes out in December, and it was announced that she will be starring in a basketball comedy from Universal.
Forte is equally busy. He is starring in his Fox series, Last Man on Earth, he will be in Key & Peele’s film Keanu, and he is playing Jennifer Aniston’s boyfriend in the upcoming film She’s Funny that Way.
