Comedienne Amy Schumer was in Italy Saturday night to promote her movie Trainwreck and was asked at the Locarno Film Festival to offer her opinion on gun control in the United States.

The Hollywood Reporter noted that Schumer said she thinks the country not enforcing stricter gun laws is about “money.”

"You know it's really not my area of expertise but it really upset me. It felt really personal to me. In terms of what’s going on in our Congress and why this has been such an ongoing issue is very frustrating," she opined.

The situation Schumer is referring to that upset her is the shooting that took place last month in a Louisiana movie theater during a screening of Trainwreck.

She added why she thinks the U.S. has not enacted stricter gun laws.

"I think it's money," she said.

Following the tragedy that killed three people, including the gunman, and injured nine others, the actress said she was heartbroken and teamed up with her second cousin, New York Sen. Chuck Schumer, to try and enact tougher gun laws.
