Tali Lennox-Fruchtmann, the daughter of singer Annie Lennox, and her boyfriend Ian Jones were involved in a kayak accident outside Poughkeepsie, New York Saturday morning. While Lennox-Fruchtmann was found, authorities are still searching for Jones.
The couple’s kayak capsized in the Hudson River around 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Dutchess County Sheriff’s Capt. John Watterson told People. The cause is still unknown, but Watterson believes that a combination of the strong current and alcohol might have been involved. Authorities do not suspect foul play.
“We're still looking into all possibilities [that] alcohol may have played a role,” Watterson also told ABC News.
Lennox-Fruchtmann, 22, was found by a passing vessel, but authorities are still searching for Jones, 32. They were separated after being in the water for 15 minutes and weren’t wearing life jackets, police say. Over 50 people were involved in the search on Saturday, which continued until 10 p.m. The search resumed Sunday morning.
Jones, a photographer, and Lennox-Fruchtmann, an artist, have chronicled their life together on Instagram. Lennox-Fruchtmann is Lennox’s daughter from her second marriage to producer Ian Fruchtmann.
