Apple has responded to Dr. Dre's apology that was published in the New York Times, and said that they full support the musician, producer and world famous entrepreneur.
Following the debut of the N.W.A biopic Straight Outta Compton questions arose about Dre's former allegations of his abuse against women. None of which was featured in the film. Music journalist Dee Barnes went public after the release of the film and wrote her own account of being assaulted by Dre back in 1991. "When I was sitting there in the theater, and the movie's timeline skipped by my attack without a glance, I was like, 'Uhhh, what happened?," Barnes wrote in a piece published by Gawker.
After much criticism Dre issued a statement about his past. "I apologize to the women I've hurt. I deeply regret what I did and know that it has forever impacted all of our lives," said Dre.
Apple purchased Beats Electronics for $3 billion back in 2014 and have continued their relationship with Dre, NBC reported.
Apple issued the following statement, "Dre has apologized for the mistakes he's made in the past and he's said that he's not the same person that he was 25 years ago. After working with him for a year and a half, we have every reason to believe that he has changed."
