One breakout single can change everything in the music industry. A hit single can help launch a career, lead to instant fame and a packed concert audience singing along with every word. Ashley Clark is experiencing just how quickly your career can change with his hit single, “Greyhound” and debut EP.

Clark is a new name in the country music industry but has been a part of the scene for some time. He was previously featured on the Fox reality show, The Next Great American Band, and has played on tour with country superstar Carrie Underwood. Despite winning the show, it took a while for Clark’s career to form and for Greyhound to be released. “My brothers and I did get on the show and we ended up winning. But there was only one season of the show and not many people watched it. The show was great though and that is how I got a record deal,” explained Clark.

Now with a brand new EP, hit single and a growing fan following, things are happening fast for the “Greyhound” singer. “It feels like things are building and the momentum is gaining,” said Clark. “It’s been exciting. I feel like I’m on a roller coaster and it’s about to get even better. There are so many twist and turns.”

This roller coaster has no end in sight, currently on a radio tour, Clark is planning on finding time to go back in the studio and work on more new music, along with spending more time on the road playing his music for fans. With such a promising career ahead of him and momentum gaining, it won’t be long before the name Ashley Clark really makes an impression on country music.

Chelsea Lewis from TheCelebrityCafe.com was able to speak with Clark. He opened up about recording his latest EP Greyhound and what his future plans are. The entire interview is below.

C: Could you talk a little bit about how you got started in the industry and what drew you to music in the first place?

A: I’ve been playing music my whole life since I’ve been a kid. My father was a traveling preacher and a banjo player. We all grew up in a family band; we were a bluegrass family band. We spent most of our time at festivals, tent revivals and church outings. We always played music.

Back in the early 2000s my six brothers and I had a band. We traveled all over playing different parts of the country. I also started playing for Carrie Underwood on tour. During that time while I was on tour with her I saw an advertisement on TV that Fox was putting together a reality TV show called The Next Great American Band. After I saw that I called my brothers and said, “Hey, I think we can win this show.” My brothers and I did get on the show and we ended up winning. But there was only one season of the show and not many people watched it. The show was great though and that is how I got a record deal

C: What was the process like of recording Greyhound?

A: It was a lot of work and time in the recording studio. I was really pushed in the studio to get the best performances out of me all the time. I play solos like crazy and just let lose. It’s been exciting. I feel like I’m on a roller coaster and it’s about to get even better. There are so many twist and turns.

C: What do you hope fans take away from our EP?

A: So far the reaction has been positive. Everyone has been really digging it and they really like “Buy You a Beer.” It’s fun to get to play these songs live and see people singing along. It feels like things are really building and the momentum is gaining.

C: What current projects are you working on?

A: I’ve been opening up for people here and there and I’m currently during a radio tour right now. I’ve opened up for Christian Bush, LeAnn Rimes and stuff is really all coming together. I still want to record some more but I’m still working on the record and it might come out early next year.

C: If you could work with any artists on a collaboration who it would be?

A: Bryan Adams, I’m huge fan.
