Rhymes was arrested at Steel Gym around 8:30pm for throwing a protein shake at a fellow gym-goer during a fight. No injuries have been reported.
The E.L.E.2 (Extinction Level Event 2) rapper was charged with assault in the second degree, Billboard reports. It’s unclear if the other man was charged with anything.
Rhymes took to Facebook after the arrest to tell fans he was headed back into the studio. “Thanks to everyone who helped expedite this evening for me,” he wrote. “I'm good and we're back to the grind. Heading 2 the studio 2 turn the bullsh-t into GREATNESS. I'm super good. #THECONGLOMERATE.”
Rhymes’ upcoming album, which is his 10th studio album, is a follow-up to 1998’s E.L.E. (Extinction Level Event): The Final World Front although he’s released many other albums in between.
Thanks to everyone who helped expedite this evening for me. I'm good and we're back to the grind. Heading 2 the studio 2 turn the bullshit into GREATNESS. I'm super good. #THECONGLOMERATE.
