Not even two months since her split with fiancé Sean Penn, Charlize Theron has reportedly adopted a little girl, named August.

TMZ reports that despite Theron’s split from Penn, the 39-year-old actress went through with the adoption that she has been working for for six months.

The age of August has not yet been revealed, but according to Just Jared, August is an African American girl who was born in the United States. She gained custody of her daughter in July.

According to Us Weekly, Penn wanted to adopt Theron’s 4-year-old son Jackson, whom she adopted in 2012, from South Africa.

Back in April, Theron opened up about motherhood to W Magazine, saying her dogs were children to her, before she had children of her own.

“I know people get weirded out when people talk that way about their animals, but love is love and care is care, and just because one needs a diaper and the other does not doesn’t mean you don’t have a deep feeling for them,” she said. “I do know that choosing to be a mom in my late 30s has been really great for me. It’s given me perspective.”

Theron has not commented on the adoption of August.
