After 23 years, Bruce Campbell is back as Ash Williams in a new Starz original series, and we now have our first official poster for the show.
Starz unveiled the brand new poster for Ash vs. Evil Dead on the series' official Twitter account, and it shows Bruce Campbell with his classic chainsaw hand joined by new characters Pablo (Ray Santiago) and Kelly (Dana Delorenzo).
Sam Raimi, director of the original trilogy of Evil Dead films, serves as executive producer on Ash vs. Evil Dead, and he will also be directing the pilot episode. Ash has spent the last 30 years avoiding the terror he faced in the first three movies, but now a new Deadite plague arises, and he has to step up, quit his slacking, and defend the Earth once again.
Also starring in the show is Lucy Lawless as Ruby, a mysterious woman who blames Ash himself on the plague of Deadites. Pablo (Ray Santiago) will be Ash's sidekick, and Kelly (Dana Delorenzo) is described as a "moody wild child." Finally there's Amanda Fisher (Jill Marie Jones), a state trooper trying to prove that Ash is responsible for her partner's death. The first official trailer for the show premiered at Comic-Con, and it's absolutely groovy, as we previously reported.
Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell have been talking about bringing back Evil Dead for a long time now, even after the Ash-less 2013 remake, but they finally announced plans for the series at Comic-Con last year. The show came along pretty quickly after that, and the premiere is set for this Halloween night.
