Cilla Black, who was a former singer as well as a television presenter, passed away at her home at the age of 72.

The Telegraph reported she was found deceased at home in Marbella and it is believed she died of natural causes. Spanish police confirmed the news that the British national had died.

Black, whose full name is Priscilla Maria Veronica White, was born May 27, 1943 in Liverpool. She gained fame at the local Cavern Club and performed with the likes of The Beatles. As a singer, Black released at least 14 albums and she was also a television presenter for shows such as Blind Date.

Stars such as Joan Collins paid their respects. Collins wrote on her Twitter account, “I am so sad and shocked by the news about my good friend Cilla. She was a resplendent and rate talent. RIP #cillablack.”

BBC News reported that Christopher Biggins, another television presenter, regarded her as a “national treasure.”

Black was married to Bobby Willis, who passed away in 1999, and they have three sons together.
