FX had its turn at the Television Critics Association Press Tour in Los Angeles this morning, where the cable network announced plans for another series that Louis C.K. will have his hands in.

Better Things was created by C.K. and Pamela Adlon, who frequently appears on Louie. The two also wrote the pilot and Adlon will star. Ten episodes were ordered for the first season.

The series centers on Sam (Adlon), who is raising three daughters on her own. She’s also a working actor, so life is certainly not easy for her.

“I’m incredibly grateful to John Landgraf and all the folks at FX and excited to work with them to explore the real and funny truths of being a single working mom,” Adlon said in a statement.

Better Things is being produced by C.K.’s Pig Newton and FX Productions. Executive producers include Aldon, C.J., Blair Breard, Dave BEcky and 3 Arts Entertainment.

Adlon also starred on Californication and an Emmy winner for her voice acting performance on King of the Hill. She has been nominated twice for her role on Louie and is up for another Emmy for playing C.K.’s on-again, off-again girlfriend on the acclaimed series.

In addition to Louie and Better Things, C.K. is also a co-creator on the upcoming Baskets with Zach Galifianakis. That also received a series order from FX.
