Donatella Arpaia has many roles in her daily life. She is a mom, a host on the Food Network, a restaurant owner, cookbook author and proud activist for encouraging everyone to eat healthier without spending hours in the kitchen.

Arpaia is well known for her work on Iron Chef America and for being a world famous celebrity chef but now she is switching gears and focusing on finding solutions for working mothers who are trying to encourage their children to eat healthy.

“You really have to try to take a step back and plan out your meals just like you would plan for work or helping your children with homework,” explained Arpaia. “If you spend 90 minutes on a Sunday, shopping and prepping your meals, including healthy snacks, you are more likely to succeed because during the week we get so busy.”

Another important key to remember on the road to becoming healthier as a family is to throw away that draw or cupboard that is filled with ice cream, cookies and other temptations. Despite how good those enticing items might taste.

When not spending time in her own kitchen, Arpaia can often be seen on the Food Network, where she has developed a huge fan following. She has been a judge on Iron Chef America and can currently be seen on some episodes of the popular reality show, Beat Bobby Flay. Currently Iron Chef is on a hiatus but Arpaia is hoping that with fan support the show could come back for another season.
