The Florida woman who tipped off the FBI about former Subway spokesman Jared Fogle’s activities with minors years ago has come forward after Fogle agreed to plead guilty to child pornography charges.

Rochelle Herman spoke with WWSB about how she came to know Fogle and began recording her conversations with him for the FBI for over four years.

Herman and Fogle met several years ago in the Tampa/St. Petersburg area, where Fogle would often take part in American Heart Association walks and other similar events. Herman claims she told the FBI about Fogle after she heard him make inappropriate comments about middle school-aged girls. Herman claims that the comments were about him having sex with underage girls.

Court documents show that the FBI received information from other adult women about Fogle, starting in 2007.

“Why would I be the only one? He had something compelling him inside that he wanted to reveal what he was doing. Did he want to get caught? I don't know,” Herman told WWSB.

“Jared Fogle is a monster,” she also told the station. “I'm numb and I'm shocked. I'm relieved most of all.”

In another interview with Inside Edition, Herman said that she recorded their phone conversations. During their conversations, he would ask if he could put hidden cameras in her children’s rooms to watch them, but she would change the subject.

On Wednesday morning, Fogle agreed to plead guilty to charges of distributing and receiving child pornography and engaging in illegal sexual activities with minors. He will face between five and 12 years in prison and will pay $1.4 million to his victims. According to court documents, he had sex with at least two minors in New York.

After his court appearance, Fogle’s wife announced that she has filed for divorce.
