Jay-Z isn't known for having a strong social media presence, compared to that of his wife Beyonce with over 44 million followers on Instagram alone but now it appears that the rap superstar has joined Instagram.
People reported that a new Instagram account was created with the handle @Hovsince96. The account claims to be that of Jay-Z. The Instagram account is currently unavailable. This account has not yet been verified by Instagram.
The account had only shared one image and already has over 100,000 followers.
The picture was of a younger Jay-Z with Michael Jackson. "Happy Birthday to the King, This may be my first and last post," the caption said.
Michael Kyser, a music executive and close friend of Jay-Z, posted a picture on his account that showed the rapper looking at Instagram on his phone. "Follow my brother @Hovsince96 ASAP," said Kyser.
Jay-Z is on Twitter with over three million followers.
