Joel McHale is not afraid to call you out if he doesn’t think you are being sincere.
In a clip from this week’s episode of The Soup McHale addresses the controversial comments Kelly Osbourne made on The View earlier this week. While discussing Donald Trump’s infamous statement about Latinos, Osbourne said, “If you kick every Latino out of this country, then who is going to be cleaning your toilet, Donald Trump?”
In The Soup’s clip McHale says, “Here Kelly makes a point. Not a good point. Not a well thought out point, but a point nonetheless,” before showing a clip from The View. “No, no I did not. I meant it like there are some jobs upper class people who tend to be white won’t do, and that’s what Mexicans are for,” mocks McHale in a British accent.
The video got even more real when McHale brought up Giuliana Rancic, Osbourne’s former Fashion Police co-host. Earlier this year rumors swirled that Osbourne departed from the popular E! Network show as a result of her frustration with a racist joke Rancic made about Osbourne’s friend Zendaya. Before showing a clip of Rancic on E! News McHale assured, “If I know Giuliana, she’ll take the high road.” The clip shows Giuliana repeatedly stating that she is not going to comment on Osbourne, and that she is going to “take the high road,” which she clearly does not. McHale responds, “Okay, well let us know when you get there.”
Osbourne was quick to apologize for her “poor choice of words,” and received support from a couple of the ladies of The View.
