Center Jonas Valanciunas signed a contract extension with the Toronto Raptors on Thursday.

According to Yahoo Sports, the deal is for four years and $64 million. There is a player option for the fourth year, which would allow Valanciunas to be a free agent in 2019. Valanciunas’ new deal will start with the 2016-17 season.

"Jonas' contributions continue to improve with each season and we view him as a significant part of what we are building in Toronto," Raptors president and general manager Masai Ujiri said in a statement.

Valanciunas, a native of Lithuania, was drafted by the Raptors in 2011. He averaged 12 points, a career-high, 8.7 rebounds and 1.2 blocks in 80 games last season, according to NBA.com. In four playoff appearances he averaged 11.3 points and 9.3 rebounds. Valanciunas led the Raptors in double-doubles (22), rebounds (693), and blocks (95), and was second in the NBA in field goal percentage with a .572 field goal percentage. In three season in the NBA Valanciunas has averaged 10.9 points, eight rebounds, and 1.1 blocks. He has averaged 11 points, and 9.5 rebounds in the playoffs in his three year career.

The Raptors have won consecutive Atlantic Division titles. However they haven’t reached the second round of the playoffs since the 2000-01 season.
