Joy Behar, who was once the face of The View with Barbara Walters, is returning to ABC’s daytime talker. The Emmy winner will co-host season 19, along with new co-hosts Paula Faris and Candace Cameron Bure.
ABC announced that Behar will be returning after leaving in 2013 following 16 years on the show. In July, she said she turned down an offer to return, but clearly ABC sweetened the deal.
“Just when I thought I was out, they pulled me back in,” said Behar. “Plus, Steve [Janowitz] was getting tired of applauding every time I gave my opinion. But I’m happy to be back home. And I'm looking forward to sticking my two cents into the hot topics, especially now that Hillary [Clinton] and the Donald are in the spotlight.”
Candace Cameron Bure is currently working on Netflix’s sequel series to Full House, Fuller House. However, she has found time to join the show. She has already been on The View and already got into an argument with co-host Raven-Symone.
Lastly, there is Faris, who is an anchor for Good Morning America on the weekends and an ABC News correspondent.
The View’s 19th season will also feature a rotating slot for contributors. These will be former full-time View co-host Sherri Shepherd, What Not To Wear’s Stacy London, CNN commentator Ana Navarro and model/actress Molly Sims.
The View returns on Tuesday Sept. 8. The other regular co-hosts are Whoopi Goldberg and Michelle Collins.
